The 24 Heures du Mans, final round of FIM Endurance World Championship

The Road Racing Commission was looking for a possible replacement of the Doha 8H by a round in Europe since few weeks. “We wanted to have a decision before the Suzuka 8 Hours,” says Paul Duparc Road Racing Commission coordinator. “We had high hopes based with a possible round in Estoril and were very close to offer you the final of the FIM Endurance World Championship in Portugal. To date, unfortunately, this event is still not fully financed. The organizers, the FMP and FIM therefore prefer not to include this event in the 2014 calendar. However looking for sponsors for this event allows us to be optimistic about the registration of an Endurance round at Estoril for the next seasons.”

The 24 Heures du Mans will therefore be the final round of the 2014 FIM Endurance World Championship.

The calendar has now been updated as follows:

Date Place Country Event

26 & 27 April* Magny-Cours France Bol d’Or (24 hours)

27 July Suzuka Japan 8 Hours of Suzuka

23 August Oschersleben Germany 8 Hours of Oschersleben

20 & 21 September Le Mans France 24 hours of Le Mans
