AMA Pro Superbike racer/team owner Larry Pegram is making his professional sports car racing debut this weekend in the Lone Star Le Mans at Circuit of The Americas, in Austin, Texas.

Pegram is driving a Real Tree Energy-sponsored Porsche 911 GT America owned by Muehlner Motorsports America in the GT Daytona class of the Tudor United Sports Car Championship.

Pegram’s teammate/co-driver is Kahled Al Qubaisi.

Pegram told Roadracingworld.com that this is his first time at COTA and his first time racing a sports car.

“Got thrown in the deep end on this one,” Pegram wrote in a text message earlier Friday.

Pegram raced a Foremost Insurance/Pegram Racing EBR 1190 RS in the 2014 AMA Pro Superbike Championship.

Fans can follow Pegram’s progress this weekend via www.imsa.com, www.fanschoice.tv and FOX Sports 2.
