Lussiana wins with his BMW S 1000 RR and takes championship lead in Brazil.

Munich, 25th November 2014. While the 2014 season has come to an end in Europe as well as in the international championships, privateer BMW Motorrad riders are still in the title fight in national series in the southern hemisphere. Last weekend, the Brazilian Superbike Championship (BRSBK) held its seventh and penultimate round of the year at Santa Cruz do Sul (BR) – with another triumph for the BMW S 1000 RR. Privateer BMW Motorrad rider Matthieu Lussiana (FR) was the man to beat in the highest category of the BRSBK, the GP 1000 class. His Petronas Alex Barros Racing team is supported by the experts from BMW Motorrad Motorsport.

In Saturday’s qualifying Lussiana secured pole position with his BMW S 1000 RR. In Sunday’s race the Frenchman celebrated his third win of the season. In doing so he retook the overall lead in the championship. With one round to go, Lussiana leads the classification with an advantage of nine points to his closest rival. The title will be decided at the season finale on 14th December at Cascavel (BR).

In the GP Light class, Lucas Teodoro (BR) finished fourth with his BMW Motorrad Alex Barros Racing BMW S 1000 RR.

Next weekend all eyes will be on the title decider in the South African Motorcycle Championship (SAM) at Red Star Raceway (ZA). Privateer BMW Motorrad rider Lance Isaacs (ZA) heads to the season finale second in the overall classification, and still has the chance to secure the title.
