Great food for a good cause – Deluca Trattoria supporting Red Bull Rookie Cup racer Gabriel Hernandez III by hosting a fundraiser event.
Deluca Trattoria in El Segundo, California has stepped up to help Gabriel “G3” Hernandez III and his racing efforts in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2015. On Saturday, January 10th, the restaurant will host an authentic Italian social boccatini wine tasting meet & greet for the young racer. All profits will go directly to helping Hernandez with the travel expenses to get to Europe for each of the 8 Red Bull Rookies Cup races next year.
“We are excited to be able to help,” said Andrea Francesco, managing partner of Deluca, “I’m a big F1 fan, but my mother’s still in Italy and loves MotoGP and ‘the Doctor.’ It is a great chance for us to showcase our restaurant and help the kid chase his dream of becoming a professional motorcycle racer.”
G3’s father, Gabriel Hernandez II said “Our challenge is to fund travel to race the 8 rounds. Red Bull is really behind this program. They supply the bike, gear, tires and race entries. But it is up to us to get to the events. That is no small task when we are coming from the west coast of the U.S. True sponsorship opportunities are pretty limited so it’s great that the racing community and small companies like Deluca can help out. We are also happy that we can give supporters something in return for their help – The food at Deluca is amazing.”
The event is a casual lunch from 1p to 4p at the El Segundo location and will feature a fantastic spread of some of Deluca’s favorite antipasti and gourmet pizzas. Attendees will pay $40 [$10 for children 12 and under] at the door but are asked to RSVP so the restaurant is prepared for the turnout.
