American Motorcyclist Association honors those who gave their lives for our country

Safe driving urged for holiday weekend

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association extends its deepest gratitude this Memorial Day weekend to those who gave their lives in service to our country.

“Memorial Day presents an opportunity for us to reflect on the many freedoms we, as motorcyclists and as Americans, enjoy and to honor and appreciate the dedication and sacrifice of those who gave their lives to secure and preserve those freedoms,” said AMA Chief Operations Officer Jeff Massey.

Many Americans will take advantage of the long holiday weekend to enjoy the freedom of the road, traveling to events, to family picnics, to beaches and other attractions.

The AMA especially encourages motorists to be especially alert to motorcyclists this weekend, who will be on the road to participate in AMA-sanctioned events, Memorial Day parades and freedom rides.

“We urge all motorcyclists and motorists to be safe and sober while operating their vehicles,” Massey said. “Everyone should use extra caution to ensure a safe holiday weekend.”
