MotoAmerica Superstock 600 racer Jason Aguilar highsided his Riders Discount/Tuned Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 early in Friday’s Free Practice Two at Barber Motorsports Park, causing the session to be stopped with a red flag.

Aguilar, who came to Alabama ranked ninth in the Superstock 600 Championship point standings with two podium finishes in his last three races, was transported to a local hospital to have his injuries evaluated.

On his Facebook page Aguilar posted: “Went from 3rd in first practice here at barber to having a big highside in the last corner breaking my foot and bruising my hip really bad. Can’t thank @araiamericas and @ssgear enough for keeping me safe. I was feeling so good this weekend coming off of two podiums I’m devastated to have this happen to me. I’m sorry to my team @tuned_racing who have been giving me such a great bike lately. I’ll be having surgery next week and see when I am healthy enough to return.”
