Cory Ventura, age 18, is returning to the MotoAmerica series and is planning to ride a CV28 Racing Kawasaki ZX-6R in the Supersport class October 23-25 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Ventura was the runner-up in the 2017 MotoAmerica KTM RC Cup Championship and the runner-up in the 2018 MotoAmerica Junior Cup Championship.

In spite of a late start in the 2019 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship, he finished 12th in the final point standings with a best race finish of fifth at Pittsburgh International Race Complex, but Ventura has not been active with MotoAmerica so far in 2020.

“I have been racing my Kawasaki ZX-6R all year at AFM having fun and getting ready for this moment,” Ventura wrote in an email to Roadracingworld.com. “Racing at Laguna has been my goal for this season. I am super excited that we made it happen and now we can see where we stack up.”

Ventura reports that Jesse Koeller built his motorcycle and will be his crew chief on the weekend. Koeller will be supported by Jeff Beaubier (father of five-time MotoAmerica Superbike Champion Cameron Beaubier), Miguel Navarro, and Cory’s father, Chris Ventura.

“At the beginning of this year, with a lot of help from Jesse, Jeff, and my dad, I took over CV28 Racing,” continued Cory Ventura. “It has taken a lot of time, money, and effort to get here and I am extremely thankful to have them behind me. I am so proud that we are doing this, and we are gonna go have fun at MotoAmerica.

“This all wouldn’t have been possible without support from Race BBJK, PCP Motorsports, CT Racing, MCTech, Öhlins USA, Graves Motorsports, Drippin’ Wet, Hustle Hard Racing, Team Green, Bell Powersports, and Area 97.”
