Pirelli Welcomes Oscar Solis as Road Racing Manager for 2017 and Beyond

ROME, Ga. (October 7, 2016) – Pirelli is proud to announce that Oscar Solis has been named the new road racing manager in North America for 2017 and beyond. With the recent announcement that Jeff Johnston will retire at the end of the 2016 season, Pirelli has brought in Solis to take over his duties and share his vast knowledge of tire experience in road racing.

“Oscar Solis has been hired to mange the road racing channel beginning in 2017,” said Tierri Corte, Pirelli Region Moto Manager, NAFTA. “Oscar has a degree in aerospace engineering, but his passion for road racing is clear. His former company, Sol Performance, has been a very successful Pirelli race vendor in the Western United States for the last four years.”

Solis carries over 13-years of tire racing experience and is well respected among riders and teams throughout the motorcycle industry.

“I’m looking forward to the future and challenges that come with the new position,” said Oscar Solis, Pirelli Road Racing Manager, NAFTA. “Pirelli is a legendary company with a long and rich racing history that I am stoked to join and move forward with. I am excited to meet and work with all of our teams and vendors, including at the CCS ROC at Daytona and the WERA GNF.”
