MotoAmerica: Injury Follow-Up Report From Ridge Motorsports Park

Many riders crashed during the MotoAmerica event August 28-30 at Ridge Motorsports Park, in Shelton, Washington, and some suffered injuries.

This is not intended to be a complete list of all of the riders who crashed and/or who were injured during the event, but here is what we know.

M4 ECSTAR Suzuki rider Alex Dumas crashed during the start of Superbike Race One on Saturday and suffered a fracture to his right arm just above the elbow. He is expected to have surgery Tuesday.

Hunter Dunham suffered a nasty, high-speed crash when he clipped a curb early in the Stock 1000 race on Sunday. Dunham was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was found to have a lacerated liver, according to his mother Amy Dunham. Dunham was then transferred to a trauma center in Tacoma, Washington, where he was held under observation for 24 hours and released on Monday.

Alexis Olivera crashed during Junior Cup warm-up on Sunday and suffered fractures to both ankles. According to a post on her Instagram feed, Olivera is scheduled to have bone graft surgery at a Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle on Wednesday.

Brandon Paasch crashed going into the Turn One chicane during Supersport Race Two on Sunday. He told Roadracingworld.com that he suffered a partially dislocated right shoulder and a concussion.

Gus Rodio also crashed during Junior Cup warm-up on Sunday and suffered a broken left femur. According to a post on Rodio’s Facebook page, he was due to have surgery on Monday, but no posts have been made since then. UPDATE: Rodio did have surgery Monday at St. Peters Hospital in Olympia, Washington, and was up and walking with assistance Monday evening, according to friend Frank Angel.
