Team HRC Honda rider Leon Haslam was the quickest rider during a two-day multi-team test July 16-17 at Motorland Aragon, in Spain.

Haslam, riding his factory CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, lowered his lap time by more than a second from Day One to Day Two, according to a report on the official World Superbike website, and ended up with a best time of 1:50.357.

The Superbike Race Lap Record is 1:49.755 and the All-Time Superbike Lap Record is 1:49.049 at Motorland Aragon, and both were set by Haslam’s current teammate Alvaro Bautista while he was riding his factory Ducati Panigale V4 R in 2019.

Haslam’s time at the test, however, was faster than he went at Motorland Aragon in 2019 while riding his factory Kawasaki ZX-10RR – 1:50.383.

The test was also attended by Superbike riders Sylvain Barrier (Brixx Performance Ducati), Christophe Ponsson (Nuova M2 Racing Aprilia), Takumi Takahashi (MIE Racing Althea Honda Team); Supersport riders Jules Cluzel (GMT94 Yamaha), Patrick Hobelsberger (Dynavolt Honda), and Hikari Okubo (Dynavolt Honda); and Supersport 300 riders Ana Carrasco (Kawasaki Provec WorldSSP300), Nick Kalinin (Battley – RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki), and Unai Orradre (Yamaha MS Racing), among others.

Kalinin is sponsored by Devin Battley, an American former racer who previously owned the Battley Cycles dealership in Maryland.

According to the Dorna WorldSBK Press Office, Cluzel and Kalinin led their respective classes at the test, but official lap times were not available at post time.
