Uribe Bags 10th In Moto2 Double Header At Valencia
Californian Jayson Uribe was once again flying the American flag high after another positive weekend that resulted in another top ten finish in the FIM CEV Repsol European Moto2 Championship at Valencia on Sunday.
Uribe, who has been lapping significantly faster at every venue so far this season, qualified a strong 10th and went into the opening race of two confident of a good result.
Race 1 was red flagged and restarted with Jayson unfortunately tipping off early on. Determined to salvage a good result in the second encounter of the day the #36 rode a smart race in race two to bag 6 valuable championship points with a solid 10th at the flag after 19 laps of the 4km circuit.
The next round of the championship takes place in Estoril in Portugal where Jayson will be once again pushing hard for the top 5 which both he and the team know is a realistic objective.
Jayson Uribe – DNF & 10th: “I had an interesting weekend at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. I’m happy with my progress compared to last year, achieving a lap time almost a second quicker. My AGR Team worked hard and we all know that I’m not far from achieving my first top 5. Practice and qualifying went relatively well. Challenging weather conditions in both QP’s made it difficult for everyone to lay down a competitive time. It was all about who was willing to take the most risk! Race 1 was unique. With a red flag, and a crash after the restart (which I take full responsibility for) I wasn’t feeling 100% for race 2. For race 2, I was told to finish the race no matter what, so that’s what I did. I got myself comfortably in 10th position and played it smart. I can’t say that I’m happy with my result, but I’m excited for Estoril where I know I will be strong. I’m very hungry for the top 5 and I believe that I can achieve that before this season is finished.”

Su Continues To Progress In Moto3 Junior World Championship
Hunter Su made massive strides at Valencia this past weekend, narrowly missing out on qualifying for the ultra-competitive Junior Moto3 World Championship race at the Valencia circuit.
A change to his riding style saw an immediate step forward and despite a small setback due to a technical problem the Chinese youngster looked confident and smooth on track.
Improving to within a few tenths of the time needed to make the grid Hunter is now confident that his season proper will begin at the next round of the series in Portugal.
Hunter Su: “The team and I made a huge step during the past week. During the free practice days we had various strange technical problems which caused me to miss half of the track time, but thanks to the team’s hard work we solved the issues and I was able to get some quality laps. We also solved some misunderstanding between me and the team regarding to my riding style and the set up of the bike. This race I was much closer to other riders, the layout of the Valencia circuit meant I could follow and study the other riders much better. Unfortunately with lap times so close I missed out on the grid even with the huge personal improvements but was very close to my team mates times which is very pleasing. I’m having quite a bit of confidence after Valencia and I will for sure fight to make the grid in Estoril. Huge thanks to Michael Hill Promotions, my team, sponsors, family and friends.
