KWR Ducati team set for Utah Motorsports Campus with title sponsor SC Project

TOOELE, Utah (Jun. 13) — The KWR Ducati team heads to Utah Motorsports Campus this coming weekend for the 5th round of the MotoAmerica Superbike championship. SC Project USA will title sponsor the team as Kyle Wyman looks to continue forward progress on his #33 Ducati Panigale V4 R.

Wyman heads to Utah 10th in series standings, and is looking to break into the top-5 on what will be a brand new track configuration this year. In the past, MotoAmerica has utilized the outer loop at the facility, and this year will use the “East Course,” a shorter, more technical configuration that will challenge riders and offer a better fan experience.

“The past week I’ve been camping out in the race trailer patiently waiting for the next event to come around,” Wyman said. “Our Sunday in Wisconsin was our best result to date, and I feel like we really found something positive with the bike. Fortunately for me, I’ve ridden the East Course in Utah before, so I will hopefully have a leg up on the field, especially since it is another two-day event weekend.”

Round five is the second of four two-day events, after the first at Virginia International Raceway. The shortened schedule eliminates 90 minutes of Friday practice time, and makes it ever important to make good use of Saturday morning qualifying. For this specific event, MotoAmerica has also decided to remove the Superpole session and set the Superbike grid based solely on two morning practice sessions.

“I have to admit that the first two-day event schedule at Virginia was very tough for our team,” Wyman said. “We had problems that first morning, and lost critical track time. It set a bad tone for our whole weekend. For this one, I know we are prepared to go make good use of the Saturday morning time and I my goal is to put our bike in the top-6 in those sessions for a second row start.”

With weekend title sponsor SC Project USA, the KWR Ducati team is ready for battle. Catch all the races live with MotoAmerica Live + or on TV at Fox Sports 2 (FS2).
