Vaughn Beals, Jr., Savior Of Harley-Davidson, R.I.P.

AMA Hall of Famer Vaughn LeRoy Beals, Jr., the man credited with leading the effort to save Harley-Davidson in the early 1980s, died August 19 in Gig Harbor, Washington at the age of 90. 

Beals was also a big supporter of Erik Buell and the Buell Motorcycle Company.

“Vaughn was the guy that agreed with me to help Erik Buell per my request,” long-time motorcycle dealer Devin Battley wrote in an email to Roadracingworld.com. “Truly the guy who saved H-D at that time. My favorite of all the CEOs I have known.”
