Racer Sean Henderson Killed During Event In Canada

Racer Sean Henderson, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, died Sunday, September 2 from injuries he sustained in a crash during an Edmonton Motorcycle Roadracing Association (EMRA) race event at Castrol Raceway, near Edmonton.

A local news article appearing at www.cbc.ca, reports that Henderson crashed alone on the first lap of a race, was treated at the scene, and was then transported to a local hospital, where he died.

In the same article, Colin Huggins, the General Manager of Castrol Raceway, is cited as saying this was the first fatal accident in the track’s 26-year history.

Scott Rybarik, President of Utah Sport Bike Association (UtahSBA), reported to Roadracingworld.com that Henderson also competed with UtahSBA.

“It’s crushing whenever we lose a family member, especially this way,” Rybarik wrote in an email. “The UtahSBA extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Sean.”
