Which Will Be Televised In The United States In Upcoming Weeks, The AMA Pro Superbike Finale, Or The Rest Of The 2013 British Superbike Series?

MCE British Superbikes to broadcast in the United States MCE British Superbikes will make its long awaited broadcast debut in the USA thanks to an agreement between Eurosport and Discovery Communications. The Discovery-owned Velocity cable channel is launching a two-hour, Saturday afternoon programming block devoted to motorsports, including motorcycle racing and trucks. “Eurosport on Velocity” launches on Saturday 28th September from 1:00-3:00pm ET and will be replayed Sunday mornings. Programming initially will include highlights from the MCE British Superbike Championship, the FIA European Rally Championship, the Silk Way Rally and the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. The deal is the first programming agreement forged by the two companies since December, when Discovery took a 20% stake in the European sports channel. This deal marks the first time Eurosport programming and contents has been sold into the U.S. market. Velocity is the former Discovery HD Theatre channel. It was relaunched as an “upscale men’s network” and is available in 54 million homes. MCE British Superbikes Series Director Stuart Higgs said: “Exposure of the championship to a U.S. audience on one of the most highly regarded TV networks is a significant development, complimenting other recent broadcast deals which now sees MCE British Superbikes broadcast globally to all five continents.” The next round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship takes place at Assen Circuit in the Netherlands (20/21/22 September)
