Motorcycle Show, Sales Corral To Be Part Of Triumph Superbike Classic At Barber Motorsports Park

INAUGURAL BIKE SHOW AND SALES CORRAL TO BE HELD AT BARBER DURING TRIUMPH SUPERBIKE CLASSIC

Birmingham, Ala. - Bike enthusiasts who attend the Triumph Superbike Classic presented by America’s First Federal Credit Union at Barber Motorsports Park, June 21-23 will now have two opportunities to show off and sell their rides with the addition of Motorcycles in the Park at Barber and the Barber Sales Corral.

The Motorcycles in the Park at Barber bike show will be held Saturday and the Barber Sales Corral will be open Saturday and Sunday of race weekend.

Motorcycles in the Park at Barber bring another form of competition to the track in addition to the race action happening on the asphalt. For only $10, anyone can enter a bike in the show, which will run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Advance registration is available by calling Sunny Chance at 205-702-8709 or at the entrance of the show. All participating bikes should be registered before 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 22.

There will be five classes of competition, along with trophies designed and built by the restoration staff of the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Museum. These custom-designed trophies will be awarded to first place winners in each class, as well as a people’s choice “Best of Show” award. The classes are as follows:

Classic I Pre-1969
Classic II 1970-1988
Modern Classic 1989-1999
Modern 2000 to Present
Street Special Café racers, customs, and modified

The Barber Sales Corral gives bike owners a chance to give their wheels some exposure to fans and potential purchasers from all over the country. Those interested in trying to sell their bike will need to pay a $10 fee for one day or $15 fee for both days, which gives them a spot in the corral from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. In addition, America’s Federal Credit Union, presenting sponsor of the Triumph Superbike Classic, will be in the Barber Sales Corral to assist with financing.

“The addition of a bike show and sales corral are really going to add to the camaraderie at this event,” said Rick Humphrey, Vice President of ZOOM Motorsports, the exclusive promoter at Barber Motorsports Park. “Not only do fans and bike enthusiasts get to watch exciting action on the track, but they now have a way to really participate in the event with their own bikes. It’s going to be a great way for people to show off what they have against a beautiful backdrop. We hope to continue and grow these events in the future.”

All proceeds will benefit the restoration department and aid in its mission to preserve the fantastic collection at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum. Both events are open to anyone who purchases a general admission ticket to the park for the day of the event.

The Triumph Superbike Classic is the third round of competition for the GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing Series and will feature seven races over the 3-day weekend. Two-time defending series champion Josh Hayes will be back in Birmingham to try and repeat his success at last year’s event where he won both Superbike races.

Tickets for the Triumph Superbike Classic start at just $15 per day and can be purchased at www.barbermotorsports.com. A three-day pass is $55 and includes free paddock upgrade. Kids 15 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.

The Motorcycle Super Saver package is also available online for $130 dollars. This ticket package includes General Admission and Paddock access for each motorcycle event at Barber Motorsports Park, which includes the Triumph Superbike Classic, Barber Vintage Festival and WERA Grand National Finals. Purchasers will also receive one Sunday Parade Lap during the Triumph Superbike Classic.
