Special Flag Room Promotion, Fan Party on Tap for Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals at VIR Alton, Va. (August 16) The new promoters of the Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals at VIRginia International Raceway, Race Promotion Management (RPM), are offering a special Flag Room Promotion in connection with the upcoming event, featuring the AMA Superbike Championship presented by Parts Unlimited, scheduled for the weekend of August 26-28. The Flag Room advance ticket package, priced at $140, is the ultimate way to attend the Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals. The package includes three-day admission, paddock access, a car parking pass, an official event program and hospitality on Saturday and Sunday. RPM has decided to sweeten the deal by throwing in a free Pit Walk Pass (a $30 value) for all Flag Room ticket holders. The Flag Room will be situated in the large banquet hall located above the Pagoda Grill in the paddock, and features a large viewing balcony overlooking Turn 3, one of the most action-packed corners on the 2.25-mile VIR North Course. The Pit Walk Pass allows holders unlimited access to the cold pits during all practice and qualifying sessions, provided closed-toe shoes are worn for safety purposes. “If you love Superbike racing,” said RPM vice president Cameron Gray, “and you really want the total experience, the Flag Room package for the Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals is the way to go. You get the most access, the best accommodations, everything that there is available in one package at a discount price. This is going to be the best Superbike weekend of the year, and the Flag Room package is the best way to see it all.” Fans are reminded to keep their schedules open for Friday night, August 26, as RPM, VIR and Speed Channel will be presenting the Big Kahuna Friday Night Fan Party in the paddock. From 6:00-10:00 pm, the Speed Channel Mobile Marketing Unit will be the centerpiece of the action, with Speed Channel personality Ralph Sheheen, who will serve as the weekend’s public address announcer, hosting the festivities. There will be food and beverage specials, a cash bar, umbrella girls, great prize giveaways and free Red Bull for the fans. From 6:00-8:00 pm, a number of top riders from the AMA Superbike Championship will be available for interviews and autographs, and at 8:00 pm Red Bull will present a special showing of the Moto GP movie “Faster,” which will be shown on the Speed Channel Mobile Marketing Unit’s theater and television screens as well as on the two trackside Jumbotron units. “Fans who have attended Superbike races at VIR before are going to be in for a shock,” said Gray. “What we have planned for this year’s Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals is going to kick this event into the stratosphere. With the variety of ticket packages, the fan party, the Jumbotron screens, the live music on Saturday and Sunday from Moonshine Still, the stunt bike shows by Jason Britton’s Team No Limit Xtreme Stunt Show and the kids’ play area provided by Kidz Jump Inc., not to mention three days of the best motorcycle racing in America, this is going to be the best Superbike event of the year. Ticket sales have been phenomenal, and we’re sure it’s going to be the biggest crowd in VIR’s long history. We can’t wait for the weekend to get here.” There are a number of advance ticket packages available for the Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals at VIR. In addition to the Flag Room package described above, other packages include the Youth Flag Room (5-12 years of age) for $50; the Big Kahuna Super Ticket (three-day admission, paddock and pit walk pass, lap of track, car parking pass and official 2005 Big Kahuna t-shirt) for $99; three-day general admission with paddock access for $55; and pit walk passes (limited availability, good for all practice and qualifying sessions, requires closed-toe shoes) for $30. At the gate, ticket availability will be limited to three-day passes for $60, single-day tickets (Friday only) for $10 and pit walk passes for $40.
