MARRC Road Racing School Gets New Director

Chantilly, VA – – Rick Beggs has accepted the position as director of the Mid-Atlantic Roadracing Club (MARRC) Road Racing School.

Rick brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him to the school after nearly a decade of racing professionally. In that time, he has raced with Formula USA and WERA Endurance events, and won the CCS Mid-Atlantic #1 plate twice and over 20 regional championships.

“I’ve always enjoyed introducing people to racing,” Rick said. “So now I get to continue that with the school.”

Rick has been working with new riders as the school’s technical inspector for several years, and been an instructor with the school since 1995.

Active throughout racing, Rick is Vice-President of MARRC, and sponsors dozens of racers in the Virginia area through his motorcycle shop, Fast Lane Cycles, in Chantilly, VA.

Rick takes over for Brian Summers, who stepped down as director after a long and successful tenure with the school. MARRC thanks Brian for his years of dedication and wishes him great success in his new endeavors.

The MARRC Road Racing School is accredited with CCS and WERA, and is one of the only all-volunteer schools in the country, providing a high student to instructor ratio. All classes in the school are taught at Summit Point Raceway near Charles Town, WV, and are proudly sponsored by Blurred Vision Productions and Dunlop Tires.

MARRC is dedicated to the advancement of motorcycle road racing. Established in 1983 as a not-for-profit, all-volunteer club to provide a trained and organized safety crew at Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia, it has expanded in membership and scope. The club boasts over 500 active members that include racers, cornerworkers, and racing enthusiasts. MARRC runs a nationally recognized safety crew. Last year, MARRC volunteers spent over 10,000 hours of service in the safety crew, road racing school, track day events, and racer support functions.
