DENVER, Colo. (May 24, 2013) – M1 PowerSports regrets to announce that despite best efforts, there will not be a GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing event promoted by M1 PowerSports as part of the 2013 season. The company will instead be focusing their efforts in 2013 on bolstering the series’ recently announced television broadcast arrangement on CBS Sports Network and working with other promoters and racetracks on sales and promotions for their respective events. “We have been working side-by-side with Chet Burks, David Atlas and others from AMA Pro Racing for the past several months on securing the new television package for GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing, leading the charge in the sales effort alongside Chet Burks Productions in order to secure the necessary funding to provide coverage of the full season,” said Cameron Gray, CEO of M1 PowerSports. “As a standalone promoter, we rely on the support of our corporate partners in order to promote events and one of the primary ways that we deliver value to them is through national television coverage. So our motivation was, first and foremost, to use our expertise and resources to help Chet and AMA Pro get the new TV deal done, while we continued our discussions with racetracks in the hopes of trying to put on at least one event in 2013.” M1 PowerSports currently has active conversations with several racetracks about promoting GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing events in 2014 and beyond. The M1 website will be updated in the coming weeks and months as negotiations continue for the 2014 season. Keep up with M1 PowerSports and find out the latest information by visiting http://www.m1powersports.com, on Twitter at http://twitter.com/m1powersports or on Facebook at http:///www.facebook.com/m1powersports . “M1 has a passion for motorcycles and promoting events and we had hoped to pull together an event this season, but it wasn’t in the cards,” Gray continued. “That being said, this is the first year of an exciting, new, multi-season television package on CBS Sports Network and we want to ensure that the television package is strong and grows. I-San and I will be in the paddock at the majority of the rounds during the 2013 season, assisting Chet Burks Productions and AMA Pro Racing to make sure that the new television partners are well taken care of and receive above-and-beyond what they signed up for. We look forward to seeing everyone next weekend at Road America.” Affordable and effective television advertising opportunities within the GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing television broadcasts are still available, allowing companies to reach the brand-loyal demographic that follows the series. Interested parties should contact Cameron Gray or I-San Hung by calling the M1 PowerSports office at 303-377-3278 or emailing [email protected] to take part in this exciting new opportunity. About M1 PowerSports, formerly M1 Entertainment: A Denver-based company, M1 PowerSports has been working in motorsports for over 16 years. Originally spawned from Daniels Corporation under the name FAST, the fledgling company was heavily involved in television production for car and motorcycle racing. With the birth of Speedvision, FAST morphed into Race Promotion Management (RPM) and is now operating as M1 PowerSports with many of the same staff still in place. We still sell advertising for Speed, sell merchandise under the brand Moto 1 and promote our own events, keeping us busy year-round!
