DENVER, Colo. (October 30, 2012) – M1 PowerSports wants to give a huge thanks to all of the fans, teams, riders, sponsors and all those involved for their efforts in helping run a successful final two rounds of GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing. The Triumph Big Kahuna Nationals presented by Dunlop Tire and LeoVince held at Homestead-Miami Speedway and NOLA Motorsports Park wrapped up what proved to be a phenomenal season of racing thanks to the tireless efforts of many great partners. The final two events breached the high expectations held for them following such a successful Triumph Big Kahuna Atlanta several months back. The intense “can’t-take-your-eyes-off” racing action featured some of the very best motorcycle racing talent on the globe and had fans on the edge of their seats for the better part of each weekend. “I couldn’t have asked for a better return to full-time promotion,” said Cameron Gray, CEO of M1 PowerSports. “Rain was a little issue early on in Miami but for the most part everything went incredibly smooth and everyone really came together. The fans were outstanding at both events and we can’t wait to announce where the Big Kahuna will land next year. I still can’t get over all of the unbelievable energy that the fans, riders and vendors provided to each event.” Fans in Miami witnessed SuperBike superstar Josh Hayes cap off another incredible season with a win, clinching his third consecutive AMA Pro National Guard Superbike Championship. Hayes’ clean sweep at NOLA Motorsports Park topped him off at 16 wins on the season. Martin Cardenas likewise clinched the AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike title, the second of his career, with a strong finish in race one on Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. In AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport, Triumph-mounted Dustin Dominguez looked like the title favorite going into New Orleans, but a bit of rough luck gave the East Championship up to Jake Lewis and the national title up to James Rispoli. Connecticut product and AMA Pro veteran Michael Barnes used the final two events at Miami and New Orleans to notch back-to-back victories and in doing so jumped the field in the XR Showdown to claim the 2012 AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 Series Championship. Overall, Triumph Big Kahuna Miami and New Orleans proved to be huge strides for getting fans back to the track and bringing the sport of motorcycle road racing back to the forefront of entertainment events. M1 PowerSports would like to thank title sponsor Triumph Motorcycles for their tireless work in promoting the events through their strong, and growing regional dealer networks. Presenting sponsors Dunlop Tire and LeoVince provided great connections and solid promotional support as well. Additionally, M1 PowerSports would like to thank the hardworking staffs of AMA Pro Racing, Road Atlanta, Homestead-Miami Speedway and NOLA Motorsports Park for providing the racing platform, venues and logistical support for these world-class events. Finally, none of this would have been possible without the unbelievable support offered by the following partners and sponsors: Arai, American Supercamp, Baskin Robbins, Café Racer Magazine, CCS, Costco, Cycle Gear, Dion Device, Dunkin Donuts, GoPro, GPR Stabilizer, Historic Moto Grand Prix, Jason Britton and Team No Limit, K&N Filters, Mardi Gras World, MobileView, Motorcycle-Superstore.com, Motorcycle-USA.com, Motul, Motorcycle Power House (MPH), National Speed Sports News, NESBA, National Guard, Next Moto Champion, New Orleans Hotel Collection, RoadRace Factory, Roadracing World, Roland Sands Design, SPEED, Sportbikes Inc., SprocketList, Spy Optic, Suzuki, TTRNO, Victory H20, Warren Henry, Wavecrest Marketing, We Ride Motorsports and Yamaha. About M1 PowerSports, formerly M1 Entertainment: A Denver-based company, M1 PowerSports has been working in motorsports for over 16 years. Originally spawned from Daniels Corporation under the name FAST, the fledgling company was heavily involved in television production for car and motorcycle racing. With the birth of Speedvision, FAST morphed into Race Promotion Management (RPM) and is now operating as M1 PowerSports with many of the same staff still in place. We still sell advertising for Speed, sell merchandise under the brand Moto 1 and promote our own events, keeping us busy year-round!
