Mika Kallio and Franco Morbidelli with Italtrans in 2015

Italtrans Team and Mika Kallio have signed an agreement – one year, plus a one-year option – joining forces to tackle next season the Moto2 World Championship. With Franco Morbidelli already confirmed, the 2015 line-up is ready. Italtrans Team wants to express its gratitude to Julian Simon, who has been part of the family for the last two years contributing with his great passion and talent.

Mika Kallio: “For me it’s really good. I already know them a little bit, because a few people from the team I already know from the past. Finnish and the Italian people are different, but I’m sure that passion and calm will be a great combination. This year, thinking to my future, I had two targets: MotoGP or Moto2, but not any team: only the right one. Italtrans is one of the best squad in Moto2, and was my first priority in the class. Moreover, they ride with Kalex and I wanted to keep next season the same bike. The team is very professional, and discussing with them they always said “we want to win”, and that is also my goal all the time. To be the best on track. So, at the end, having decided to stay in Moto2, it has been quite easy to decide for Italtrans. Let’s see what we can do together. For me we have the real goal in our mind. Of course, I’ll try to win also this year the title. And to repeat it next year…”.

Franco Morbidelli: “I’m very happy to stay with Italtrans next season too. It means we did a good job this season, and this makes me happy. I’m delighted to know that Mika will be my team mate: he’s a top rider and I can learn a lot from him. He’s going to be a great asset for the team, both on track and in the garage. Coming to me, next season I will be more experienced, while this year most of the things have been brand new. I cant imagine what can be a realistic target, but I’ll certainly push as much as possible, and anytime. As always. The dream goes on”.

Luigi Pansera (Team Manager): “We are very happy with the team we are building up – it’s a good combination of talent, experience, ability, different cultures. We are focused, committed and with a great desire to do right. I want to express my gratitude to the Bellina family: it’s thank to them, to their support and passion that we are in the sport and planning our future. As Mika said, we want to win. As Franco said, it’s our dream”.
