Sheffield based GR Motosport Ltd, are pleased to announce the completion of their 2016 MCE British Superbike squad with the signing of Sam Hornsey.

The Bucknell based 21 years old has progressed through the Motorpoint British Supersport ranks to become a regular front runner scoring podium finishes in the last 2 rounds of 2015. Sam is now gearing up for the challenge of his first season in BSB, and looking forward to his first outing on the Team WD-40 Superbike.

Sam Hornsey: “I am very pleased and honoured to be welcomed to the GR Motosport Superbike Team for 2016. I am excited as it is something I have aimed at for the past 10 years and now its falling into place with Team WD-40. We have exciting times ahead for both parties and i can not wait to start working with Brent and the team. The bike and infrastructure is very impressive and working with such a straight team and family i think 2016 could be a very good year for me. I know i am a rookie to the class but we as a team we will build and improve as my aim would be to top rookie, and having jack as a team mate to learn from theres no reason why we cant achieve this #94.”

Brent Gladwin: “As team principal it is always a good idea to have an eye on what is happening in the other classes, and again the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship has produced a crop of great young riders. I have known Sam for quite a while and helped him out a couple of times, he has always shown great attitude and real potential, which has shone through this season as he became a clear front runner and podium finisher in the Supersport class. Sam had a fun ride out on a superbike in the later part of the season, the results of which made my decision to sign him quite easy. Over the next few weeks, we have a few more important and exciting pieces of Team News to come for 2016. The racing side of things will continue with Sam Atkinson in MotoX over the winter and then its testing to be ready for the season .

We will as always continue all our promotional duties for our sponsors in their own individual fields. We will again feature in the Milan motorcycle show, with some things at the NEC too. It is important to understand that without our sponsors the sport would be a poorer place so please take a moment to click on the links below to see what they all do and spread the word, Thank You !”
