Freestyle Stunt Shows, Fireworks To Highlight Off-Track Activities At Buckeye Superbike Weekend At Mid-Ohio

BIKES TAKE OVER MID-OHIO FOR UPCOMING BUCKEYE SUPERBIKE WEEKEND Seven races and lots to do off track round out a busy weekend LEXINGTON, OHIO – The 31st annual Buckeye SuperBike Weekend presented by Dunlop Tire returns again to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course July 12-14. AMA Pro Road Racing’s four classes – National Guard SuperBike, GoPro Daytona Sportbike, Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport and Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series – will combine for seven races Saturday and Sunday with many of them televised on CBS Sports Network. Three Monster Energy Freestyle Motocross (FMX) team shows, a nighttime fireworks display and the first three races of the weekend – including the first leg of the Wiseco SuperBike 100 Doubleheader – on Saturday make it a must-go day for fans. Lexington, Ohio native and Miami University Hall of Fame Coach Dave Jennings will be honored as Grand Marshal Saturday, as well. Fans with Pit & Paddock Passes are welcome to get on the grid each day at noon for fan walks and autograph sessions with all the riders. The Dealer Ride fan lap takes place on Sunday at 11 a.m., for those with bikes who want to ride around the course’s fifteen turns. “Fast bikes on track, stunt shows, fireworks, fan walks and autograph sessions give fans a ton to do this weekend. Bikes are a huge part of Mid-Ohio culture and the fans love seeing the riders drag knees and fly down the back straight,” said Craig Rust, president of Mid-Ohio. Weekend tickets start at $60. A comprehensive motorsports facility, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course features a permanent road-racing circuit with two primary configurations: a 2.4-mile, 15 turn, and a 2.25- mile, 13-turn circuit. The park-like, 330-acre complex is located in Lexington, Ohio, near Mansfield, 60 miles north of Columbus and 75 miles south of Cleveland. The track has been called the most competitive course in the U.S. and annually hosts a diverse lineup of locally, regionally and nationally sanctioned racing events for amateur, club and professional drivers and riders. Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course opened in 1962 and is owned and operated by Green Savoree Mid-Ohio, LLC.
