A call for donations to help pay for a recent large shipment of Airfence soft barriers brought immediate response from racers, friends and family members in the racing community, including pledges from AMA Superbike Points Leader Ben Spies and his mother, Mary Spies, to match donations up to $10,000 and $5000 respectively, and race photographer Vicki Sulpy, who donated $1000 “To keep our friends safe.”

An auction held on the WERA.com BBS has brought in a total of $2470 so far. Participants included Brad Wilson, $1500; Adrienne C. Eckhart, $275; Steve Brunton, $250; Graves Yamaha/WERA BBS, $215; Darrin Talbott, $100; John W. Butler, $80; and Lori Kobayashi, $50.

Michael Arenella ($30.50) and Christopher Brown ($150) have made contributions to the Action Fund through payroll deductions pledged through Chevron’s annual “People Make A Difference” campaign.
