Reservations Available for Grand Opening of Highland Park Resort

CEDARTOWN, Ga. Despite soaring temperatures and heavy rains, construction of Highland Park Resort is rapidly progressing as the off-road vehicle park nears its grand opening date of Saturday, October 1.

Highland Park owner Paul Wright has been overseeing the construction of the entrance area, roads, parking and camping areas, and doing about 90 percent of the trail layout himself. While the construction is anticipated to last for at least a year as additional trails, camping spaces, cabins and other support buildings are added, Highland Park is nearly ready for its first off-road riders.

“I have people stop by every week, wanting to see the progress,” said Wright, who noted that he has already found four old and abandoned moonshine stills on the property. “There are a lot of people excited about having a place to ride in the Northwest Georgia mountains. We’ve put in a tremendous amount of hard work to make the riding as awesome as possible, but also loads of work has gone into all the details, like building the parking areas within the forest, rather than just clear cutting the trees and making a big parking lot. We’re confident that we’re giving riders a great new experience.”

Highland Park Resort will be open on weekends only beginning with the grand opening on October 1. A limited number of spaces are available by reservation only until further construction has been completed.

Interested riders should call 1-888-FASTLAP or 770-425-5252 between the hours of ten and six from Monday through Friday. Credit card payments can be made over the phone, or riders can pay in cash when they arrive at Highland Park.

Gate fees for Highland Park Resort are $5 for adults and $3 for kids ages 9 to 13. Kids eight and under are free. Riding fees are offered at a discounted rate of just $10 per day for adults and $5 a day for kids 9 to 13. Children eight and younger can ride for free, but must be accompanied by a riding adult.

Riders are welcome to camp in their tents or self-contained RVs for just $3 per night. Water is available as well as temporary restroom facilities.

More information about Highland Park Resort, including driving directions, a list of local hotels, and pictures of the beautiful scenery and progressing construction can all be found at www.HighlandParkResort.com.
