Zickrick Recovering From Bonneville Salt Flats Car Crash

Road race mechanic and SuperTech owner Dennis Zickrick is recovering at Federal Heights Rehabilitation Center in Salt Lake City and expects to return home to Fort Collins, Colorado by the end of this week. Zickrick was seriously injured August 14th when he crashed his purpose-built Lakester-class racecar at about 175 mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats. The car is powered by a 1425cc KZ1000 pro-stock engine fitted with a Ford Thunderbird turbo and makes about 200 horsepower. Zickrick broke both arms, several ribs and a vertebra in his neck, and underwent surgery to plate compound fractures of both bones in one arm.
