TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (September 9, 2009) “”The Yamaha Champions Riding School at Miller Motorsports Park announced today its upcoming class schedule for the remainder of the 2009 season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. School dates will include: October 5-6 October 19-21 November 9-10 November 18-20 December 2-4 December 17-18 These six schools will include level-one schools, graduate schools and race-specific schools to help riders of all skill levels accomplish their riding goals and improve their skills no matter what type of rider they are currently. “We have seen such great response from students who have attended the Yamaha Champions Riding School so far,” said lead instructor Nick Ienatsch. “We have seen students return time after time in such a short initial period, had students book classes far in advance, and we have been able to help all the riders who have come to ride with us.” Along with the new dates, it is important to remember the guest instructors who have been, and will continue to be, a part of the school. “I was excited to learn that Ben Spies would be coming as a guest instructor to the Yamaha Champions Riding School that I was attending,” said NASCAR Sprint Cup series driver Brian Vickers. “It was amazing to listen to Ben speak, and to hear what he had to say. “And, most importantly,” Vickers continued, “Ben was telling us that he does the same things the instructors were teaching us to do.” Other guest instructors thus far at the Yamaha Champions Riding School have included five-time Daytona 200 and 1993 World Superbike Champion Scott Russell as well as two-time AMA Supermoto Lites Champion Brandon Currie. “These guys really do things right,” said Russell, while talking to the students during class. “I wish that there were these types of schools when I started riding so I could come in and learn from guys like Nick Ienatsch and his instructors right out of the gate. “Not only are they all great riders,” Russell continued, “but they understand this sport, and they study and work with the best riders to bring the best techniques to the students. It’s like a cheat sheet to riding fast and safe!” Upcoming guest instructors include Josh Hayes (2003 AMA Superstock Champion, 2006-2007 AMA Formula Xtreme Champion and 2009 AMA Superbike championship runner-up) on September 22-23 and Ben Bostrom (1998 AMA Superbike Champion, 2001 World Superbike multi-race winner, 2004 AMA Supermoto Champion and X-Games Supermoto Gold Medalist, 2008 AMA Supersport Champion) on September 28-29. The students attending the school have their own impressive resumes as well. In addition to Vickers, students who have attended the school so far include CBS Sports and SPEED Channel personality Erin Bates, X-Games BMX Vert Gold Medalist Jamie Bestwick and Dew Tour BMX Vert Champion Chad Kagy, among many others. “I am constantly amazed at how the instructors can really bring out the best in their students and help them develop new skills,” said Bestwick after three days at the Yamaha Champions Riding School. “The school was above and beyond what I experienced in the past, and could have ever imagined.” The Yamaha Champions Riding School is also introducing a special group program providing private instruction tailored to individual group needs. Groups ranging from casual Sunday riders groups to local Star Riders or Star Touring groups to club, regional or national racing series now have the opportunity to get together 15-20 riders for a school designed specifically to meet their needs, riding styles and lives. These exclusive schools will be arranged individually by the school staff in order to provide the experience your group is looking for.
