Yoshimura Suzuki’s Ben Spies led AMA Supersport practice Friday morning at Infineon Raceway with a time of 1:38.966 on his GSX-R600. The big news, however, was that Roger Hayden did 25 laps during the session on his factory Kawasaki ZX-6RR, posting an 11th-fastest time of 1:41.618. “Tough,” is how Hayden described the session to Roadracingworld.com. When asked if he would continue riding this weekend, he said, “I don’t know yet. We’ll see.” Hayden wore an over-size boot on his injured right leg/foot, and his Kawasaki was fitted with a longer-than-normal right footpeg and a thumb-operated rear brake.
