Ralf Waldmann, a 250cc Grand Prix World Championship star during the 1990s, has died.

According to Eurosport, with whom Waldmann had been working as a MotoGP TV commentator, Waldmann was found dead at his home in Ennepetal, Germany, March 10.

He was 51.

Waldman was a two-time runner-up in the FIM 250cc Grand Prix World Championship (finishing second to Max Biaggi both times) and a 20-time race winner during a career that spanned 1986 to 2009, including full-time seasons from 1990 to 2000.
