FIM/UEM new appointment in Brussels
Permanent representative will defend the interests of motorcycling
Former Vice-President of the Commission for Mobility, Transport, Road Safety and Public Affairs (CMT), John Chatterton-Ross, has been appointed jointly by the FIM and UEM (European Motorcycle Union) as Director of Public Affairs in Brussels. He will start his work immediately on all the Brussels portfolios on behalf of the FIM and the UEM. These include, among various subjects, ongoing discussions on the new Driving License Directive, studies on Daytime Running Lights, the new Machinery Directive and exemptions for competition motorcycles, environmental issues.
Mr Chatterton-Ross, 54, brings to this work a strong commitment to road safety from his former career in the United Kingdom Police service. He has been involved with the FIM since 1989 and with the UEM since its foundation. His presence and his actions will bring more strength to the FIM and UEM work in the defence of the interests of motorcycling (sport and motorcycling in general) against unfavorable policies of the European Union and Commission.
