MotoAmerica updated Technical Bulletin 08-2018 and issued a new Technical Bulletin, 11-2018, on June 13 to adjust the technical rules in the Liqui Moly Junior Cup and Twins Cup classes, respectively.

The update to Technical Bulletin 08-2018 adjusts the balancing regulations in the Liqui Moly Junior Cup class. The KTM RC 390 and RC 390 R must now weigh no less than 142 kg (312.4 pounds) at any time during the event. Previously, the minimum weight limit for the KTM RC 390 and RC 390 R was 136 kg (299.2 pounds).

Technical Bulletin 11-2018 announces that 2006-2011 Kawasaki EX650’s and 2012-present Kawasaki Ninja 650’s may now be raced in the Twins Cup. In addition, rule 2.8.8.9/a regarding connecting rods in Twins Cup machines has been reworded to allow the use of aftermarket connecting rods as long as they are made from steel or the same material as the homologated model’s connecting rods. Previously any aftermarket connecting rods had to be the same weight or heavier than the standard connecting rods.

All of these changes go into effective immediately, beginning with the June 22-24 event at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
