Harley-Davidson Sells $600 Million In Unsecured Notes, And Investor Warren Buffett Buys $300 Million Worth

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinal newspaper reported that Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. has purchased $300 million worth of Harley-Davidson debt in the form of unsecured notes that will mature in 2014 and pay an annual rate of 15%. Harley-Davidson sold a total of $600 million worth of the notes in an effort to, among other things, raise funding to be used to offer financing to consumers buying Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
