STEVE ANDERSON JOINS BUELL ENGINEERING STAFF Noted Moto-Journalist Named Platform Director EAST TROY, Wis. (Oct. 17, 2005) Veteran engineer and motorcycle journalist Steve Anderson has joined the engineering staff of Buell Motorcycle Company as a Platform Director. “Steve Anderson brings a broad base of skills and experience to Buell,” said Erik Buell, Chairman and Chief Technical Officer at Buell Motorcycle Company. “Most of all, Steve brings an intense passion for motorcycling and in-depth knowledge of the motorcycle industry. He will be a great asset to Buell.” “I’ve been watching Buell for a long time,” said Anderson. “Erik Buell has assembled the most innovative and talented young engineering team motorcycling has seen since Vincent in the early fifties or Honda in the mid-sixties. I look forward to joining them and helping to produce great motorcycles.” Anderson, 51, is a registered Professional Engineer (PE), receiving his BSME from MIT in 1979. Over the past 20 years he has earned a reputation as one of the most respected writers covering the sport of motorcycling, a journalist with a knack for translating highly technical subjects for enthusiasts. He has been a contributing editor at Cycle World magazine since 1993, was editor-in-chief of Cycle magazine from 1988 to 1991, and served as a technical editor and later as executive editor at Cycle World from 1982 to 1988. In addition to his moto-journalism background, Anderson has been working for 13 years as a senior accident reconstruction engineer, most recently for MEA Forensic Scientists and Engineers at its Los Angeles offices. His prior engineering experience includes a stint at Williams International, where he designed cruise missile engines, and independent consulting on numerous engineering issues.
