Young American Jason DiSalvo plans to race a Virgin Mobile-sponsored works Yamaha Superbike in an invitational event scheduled for September 25-26 at Castle Combe in Wiltshire, England.

According to Jason’s father, Jim DiSalvo, the track hopes to host a British Superbike event next year and is holding the invitational event to demonstrate its suitability.

The elder DiSalvo said that the event could lead to a revival of the Trans-Atlantic Match Race Series, with events held in conjunction with the MotoGP race at Laguna Seca and with Superbike races in England and Spain.
