The Roadracing World Action Fund has now raised a total of $253,565.30 in contributions toward soft barrier education and deployment.

The Roadracing World Action Fund runs an educational program demonstrating the safety and economic advantages of using soft barriers such as Air Fence and Alpina Air Modules in front of walls, barriers, embankments and other hard object surrounding racetracks in the United States.

Soft barriers have proven superior to haybales and tire walls in preventing or reducing rider injuries in case of impact with a wall or other hard object at racetracks.

In the latest round of donations, Racing Performance Services owner Marcus Mc Bain has joined Traxxion Dynamics, Hi-Side Racing, Chicken Hawk Racing and BBVR Performance Products in establishing donation programs to benefit the Roadracing World Action Fund. McBain’s program has yielded $600 so far, and with Mc Bain’s numerous individual contributions over the past two years totalling $2425, his grand total is now $3025.

McBain wrote, “I am very pleased to donate $600 to the Roadracing World Action Fund. This donation is a direct result from the tremendous customer support of my company Racing Performance Service. RPS provides trackside and depot suspension, engine, and rider training services. Many riders have purchased our Rider Training guides, and track maps authored by Marcus McBain which are available free at www.roadracinghelp.com. Additionally, RPS partners with companies like Traxxion Dynamics to sell their Suspension for Mortals video series that are also dedicated to support of the Action Fund. Lastly, the tremendous customer support in the Texas and Colorado regions for our fork and shock services, engine services, and the Marcus McBain racing school have allowed us to make these type of donations despite only being in business for three months. Thank you to the Racing Performance Services customers in MRA and CMRA.”

Donations collected through recently established company-sponsored programs include $500 from Traxxion Dynamics and $100 from Chicken Hawk Racing.

New contributions from individuals include $285 from Jim Howes; $60 from John Stewardson; $50 from Bruce Wilkins; and $50 from Robert Dickey, who sent the money “in memory of Mike Monroe, WERA/CRRC/CMRA Lightweight Superbike Endurance Champion, 1980 & 1981.”

Bruce and Edie Lind organized a 250cc Grand Prix spaghetti dinner at the Barber AMA National, raising $313.
