More Than $40,000 Raised in Benefit For Injured AMA Rider Vincent Haskovec SONOMA, Calif. “” Injured AMA rider Vincent Haskovec may not have been at Saturday’s open motorcycle day at Infineon Raceway, but his spirit was everywhere. More than 100 riders attended a benefit motorcycle day on Saturday at Infineon Raceway, helping to raise $41,000 for Haskovec, who sustained injuries during the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown weekend at Infineon Raceway in May. He is currently being treated at Santa Clara Medical Center in the South Bay. His injuries include paralysis below the chest. The event attracted 115 riders, each paying a $300 entry fee, and an additional $6,500 was raised during a lunch-time raffle featuring donated gifts. Others who could not attend the event donated money. Moreover, most services provided for the day were donated, including a catered lunch and all corner workers. Riders spent the day traversing the road course, mingling and reminiscing about Haskovec (Team M4 EMGO Suzuki), one of the most-liked riders on the AMA circuit. The “3Js Motorcycle Day” was hosted by Jere Starks, vice president of facilities at Infineon Raceway, Jenah Smith and Jerry Wheeler (Infineon Raceway) and avid motorcyclists Jay Brosius and Jim Randolph. “The support demonstrated by the motorcycle community for Vincent was overwhelming,” Starks said. “I’m glad we were able to host this event and help Vincent in some small way.”
