FIRST PERSON/OPINION Via e-mail: Who Wrote This? ~http://roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=45447~ I didn’t realize that Road Racing World (sic) was trying to compete with CNN and Fox News in spinning stories in a misleading manner. Someone who didn’t know any better would read the following: “Ebben took off from the field in the dry but the change to rain tires was just enough to allow Ortega to pullout to victory” as Ortega was struggling to win and was lucky that it started raining (which couldn’t be further from the truth). For those that know Dan Ortega (and his track records at BHF, link below) probably find that article comical. A more factual statement would be: “At the start of the race, Dan Ortega was in 2nd place behind Scotty Ryan on the first flying lap in the dry, setting up a pass to separate himself from Brian Hall who was close behind. A downpour came out of nowhere so the race was red flagged and the track was declared wet. The riders were allowed to go back to their pits for 15 minutes for a quick setup change. After switching to rain tires and a rain setup, Ortega re-gridded and was out in front by T5, leading the race until the checkered flag. Hall declined to restart the wet race” ~http://www.blackhawkfarms.com/index.php/about/track-records/~ Best Wishes, Michelle Ortega Naperville, Illinois To address Mrs. Ortega’s concerns, we have attached the following text to the press release in question, as seen here: ~https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=45447~ WARNING: The following post contains a press release or multiple press releases.
