In October Suzuki announced that it would commemorate the production of the one millionth unit of its GSX-R sportbike line, a line that began in 1985 with the production of the GSX-R750, with a special 1 Million Commemorative Edition GSX-R1000 for the 2013 model year. Today Suzuki confirmed it plans to import the 1 Million Commemorative Edition GSX-R1000 to America. A total of 1985 units of the 1 Million Commemorative Edition GSX-R1000 will be produced, each with a numbered plaque on the top triple clamp, and approximately 1000 of them are expected to come to America. Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of the GSX-R1000ZL3, as the 1 Million Commemorative Edition GSX-R1000 will be designated, is $13,999. That’s $200 over the cost of a standard 2013 Suzuki GSX-R1000, $13,799, which is mechanically identical to the 2012 Suzuki GSX-R1000. The 1 Million Commemorative Edition GSX-R1000 differs from standard GSX-R1000s only in appearance. It comes with a unique paint scheme with a red nose, black front Brembo monoblock calipers with red lettering, wheel stripes, gold-colored forks, a special tank graphic, red fork caps, a red shock spring, a rear seat cowl (not shown in the photos supplied by Suzuki) and a special key ring.
