CHICAGOLAND, MINNESOTA, UTICA MOTORCYLISTS TOP $323,000 FOR CURE Motorcyclists banned together in three states this weekend to raise $323,199 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation at the Chicagoland, Minnesota and Uitca Ride for Kids events on July 21. Thirty-one young brain tumor survivors attended the events held in Elgin, Ill., Vadnais Heights, Minn. and Deerfield, N.Y. Each of the rides featured bright blue skies and warm temperatures. “It’s a privilege, and a responsibility and an honor to take care of these children. They are fighters,” said Dr. Rishi Lulla, pediatric neuro-oncologist of Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Lulla attended the Chicagoland ride. Making life better for these Ride for Kids Stars is the reason motorcyclists across the country ride for the PBTF, which funds medical research and family support programs to help eliminate the challenges of childhood brain tumors. Read more about the rides here: Chicagoland Minnesota Utica The Chicagoland, Minnesota and Utica events are still collecting donations online at www.rideforkids.org. Fundraisers will receive incentive credit through Aug. 21. ABOUT RIDE FOR KIDS Ride for Kids is now in its 30th year of raising awareness and funds for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. These fun-filled, family-friendly motorcycle rides take place in more than 40 cities across the country. More than 28,000 people in the United States are living with the diagnosis of a childhood brain tumor, and 11 more cases are identified each day. Motorcyclists have helped the PBTF become the world’s largest non-governmental source of funding for childhood brain tumor research.
