AJS 7R3 “TRIPLE KNOCKER” RETURNS TO ISLE OF MAN August 22-26, 2013 Team Obsolete is set to bring the AJS “Triple Knocker” 350 cc ex-factory Grand Prix racer to the Isle of Man David Roper will be doing laps on the 37 ¾ mile mountain circuit to support the Manx Grand Prix Classic TT on the AJS 7R3 “Triple Knocker”. The AJS “triple knocker” 350 cc ex-factory Grand Prix racer that Rod Coleman rode to victory at the 1954 Isle of Man “Junior” TT will be ridden by 1984 Isle of Man TT winner David Roper. Only four (4) “Triple Knockers” were ever built. They were raced by the AJS factory Team during the 1954 season. Then AJS withdrew from Grand Prix competition. The bikes were out of the public eye until we found one in an English storage locker 30 years later. It was missing some of the unique engine internals, which we made in Brooklyn. Remarkably, it has original paint, chrome, and one original plywood number plate. This exotic single cylinder bike has three valves, three cams, and two exhaust pipes! The six gallon pannier type fuel tank wraps around the motor, and utilizes a mechanical fuel pump. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Aug. 23 – Classic TT Paddock Carnival Aug. 24 – Parade Laps Aug. 25 – VMCC Festival of Jurby Aug. 26 – Parade/Lap of Honour Team Obsolete is sponsored by AVON Tires, Vanson Leathers, Air-Tech Streamlining, Works Performance Suspension, R.D. Springs and Arai Helmets.
