Cameron Beaubier flew to Southern California last night to undergo arm-pump surgery on his right arm today.

Beaubier’s flight from Atlanta landed at about 12:30 a.m. and while waiting to claim his bags he explained that he had encountered serious arm-pump problems last year–his first racing a Superbike–and that the problems continued during the April 9-12 MotoAmerica event at Circuit Of The Americas. “It got so bad during the race at COTA that I was having problems feeling what I was doing with the front brake,” Beaubier said. He added that he had not encountered any problems during his sweep of the two Superbike races at Road Atlanta on Sunday, April 19th, but that he wanted to get the problem fixed now while he had the chance.

Road Atlanta has a more flowing layout than Circuit Of The Americas.

Beaubier said that Dr. Thomas Bryan, the same surgeon and track-day rider who worked on Beaubier’s knee (damaged in a scooter crash) a few seasons ago, is doing the work. Bryan has clinics in Chino and West Covina, California.

Beaubier also said that he expected to be back in action in time for the next MotoAmerica event, scheduled for May 15-17 at VIRginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia.
