World Superbike Testing To Resume January 14 In Portugal

Testing by teams competing in the FIM Superbike World Championship will resume their busy testing schedule January 14 at the Autodromo International Algarve in Portimao, Portugal, in preparation for the opening round of the 2015 season, which is scheduled for February 20-22 at Phillip Island, in Australia.

According to the Dorna WSBK Press Office, the current private testing schedule looks like this:

The Pata Honda World Superbike team will test January 14-16 in Portugal.

On January 19-20, Spain’s Motorland Aragon will host Pata Honda, Kawasaki Racing Team, Grillini Kawasaki, Team Pedercini Kawasaki and the Paul Bird Motorsports Kawasaki British Superbike team.

On January 21-22, several teams will test at Autodromo International Algarve, including the Aruba.it Racing Ducati Superbike Team, MV Agusta’s World Superbike and World Supersport teams, BMW Motorrad Italia, Red Devils Aprilia, Crescent Suzuki, Team EBR Hero, Althea Ducati, Team Pedercini Kawasaki and the Puccetti Kawasaki World Supersport team.

Then on January 26-27, Spain’s Circuito de Jerez will host testing by Aruba.it Racing Ducati Superbike Team, Red Devils Aprilia, Kawasaki Racing Team, Crescent Suzuki, BMW Motorrad Italia, Pata Honda, Team EBR Hero, Althea Ducati, Team Pedercini Kawasaki, the Puccetti Kawasaki World Supersport squad and the Ducati MotoGP team or teams.

World Superbike and World Supersport teams must complete their testing and have their motorcycles and equipment crated up and ready to ship to Australia in early February.

Teams will then have one final, official pre-season test February 16-17 at Phillip Island, and then the 2015 season will start at the same track on February 20-22.
