The willow tree that almost did what many decades worth of racebike crashes couldn't do to 70-year-old racer Gary Nixon. The big tree crash happened March 19th.
Here is a photo of the tree that almost got me. The doctor said I just dodged the bullet.
Dislocated hip, cracked femur ball and broken socket as I was running, just not fast enough.
Just 6-inches to the left or 1-inch up and I would have been paralyzed or dead!
Doctor says I can now put 50% weight on it. I started using my short crutches from 1969.
Should be able to drive any time.
See you at Laguna!
