Yamaha R1 SuperBike Rider Larry Pegram Got The Most Out Of His Four-Wheel Adventure This Past Weekend In Traxxas TORC Series At RedBud Hebron, OH – August 14, 2013 – Foremost Insurance/Pegram Racing Yamaha R1 SuperBike rider Larry Pegram had an adventure-filled debut in Rounds 11 and 12 of The Off-Road Championship (TORC) Series, which was held this past weekend at RedBud MX in Buchanan, MI. Competing in the PRO Buggy class, Larry got up to speed quickly in his #5 Popcorn Sutton’s Tennessee White Whiskey/RealTree Energy Drink entry during Saturday’s Round 11 action, and he was in contention for a potential podium finish until the shift linkage broke on his Buggy, causing Larry to have to settle for 10th place. “I got a real good feel for the Buggy,” Larry said. “And I had a lot of fun with it on Saturday. Unfortunately, we suffered a mechanical, but it made me even more determined to come out swinging on Sunday.” And “come out swinging,” Larry did. During Sunday’s Round 12 PRO Buggy race, the open-wheel design of the race vehicles came into play as Larry’s Buggy got tangled up with another driver’s Buggy on the challenging RedBud race course. Before he knew it, Larry found himself on top of the other car with both vehicles intertwined. “Now, THAT’S something I’ve never done before with my #72 Foremost Insurance/Pegram Racing SuperBike,” Larry commented, with tongue placed firmly in his cheek. “But, it’s almost football season, so I thought I’d practice my tackling technique while I was out there.” Neither Larry nor the other driver was injured in the mishap, although the race did have to be red-flagged and re-started. In the restart, Larry was on the gas again, and he finished in a very respectable 4th place, despite the unplanned “piling on.” “It was a great weekend up in Michigan for Heather (Larry’s wife) and me,” Larry continued. “I want to thank Mark Kvamme again for giving me the opportunity to compete at RedBud in the Traxxas TORC Series. We got some great footage for my TV show ‘Superbike Family’, and that’ll be an episode that fans won’t want to miss.” About TORC: The Traxxas TORC Series, presented by AMSOIL, is the fastest, most-punishing, short-course racing series on the planet. TORC events are packed with flag-to-flag fender banging as drivers push the limits over whoops and jump-filled natural terrain racetracks. Off-road racing fans come from far and wide to experience the most challenging form of high-octane competition. And, once they taste TORC for the first time, they’re hooked for life.
