Millennium Technologies/KWR riders moving up in class for Indianapolis GP

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Brothers Kyle and Travis Wyman will both be stepping up in class this coming weekend for the eighth round of the MotoAmerica series at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Kyle will pull double-duty this weekend riding an Excelsus Solutions/KWR Yamaha YZF-R1 in the Superstock 1000 class in addition to his Supersport effort, while Travis has been called up to wild-card in the Supersport class alongside his brother on his own Millennium Technologies Yamaha.

The moves are a testament to the continuing growth of KWR, and will provide the best opportunity yet for the brothers to perform on the world stage as support for MotoGP.

“I’m used to pulling double-duty, but not quite at this level,” Kyle said of his Superstock 1000 opportunity. “I’ve never raced a ‘big-bike,’ and actually haven’t ridden this new R1 at all. Our focus is still very much on improving our Supersport results this weekend, because we have some really good momentum from Laguna Seca. We have no expectations for Superstock 1000. I just want to go out there and have some fun on it.”

Track familiarity should favor the Wyman brothers, as they have competed many times each at the ‘Racing Capitol of the World’ – Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Kyle already has a race win and three podium results at the famed Brickyard.

“I love Indy,” Kyle added. “I have great memories from there, and it will be a great opportunity for us to go into a race weekend ahead of the game. Not many of the other riders have seen the track before, so I’m glad to have that in my corner. I’m looking forward to giving Millennium Technologies their best showing of the season and break into the top-five.”

Travis, who will compete in the MotoAmerica Supersport race as a wild-card for the first time this season, is excited to run against ‘the fast guys,’ including his older brother. He also has one podium result at Indy from 2013.

“It will definitely be a challenge,” Travis said of his Supersport debut. “The talent level is deep in that class, so I’ll have to step up my game for sure. Luckily Indy is a track I know well and I know I’ll be on good equipment. My goal is to finish in the top-10.”

Action starts Thursday afternoon, August 6th at 1:00 P.M. EST when the Superstock 1000 class hits the track for first practice. All of the action can be viewed LIVE on motortrendondemand.com for video coverage.
