M1GP TO REPRESENT AMERICAN MINI ROAD RACING AT MOTOAMERCA / WSBK – Laguna Seca

As part of AXcess Racing LLC and MotoAmerica’s effort to bring young riders into the spotlight, M1GP American Mini Motorcycle Road Racing has been chosen to represent youth road racing for MotoAmerica during the July World Superbike round at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The high-profile event will showcase young riders alongside the weekend’s races, providing them the recognition, encouragement, and inspiration to pursue the sport.

M1GP Founder, Young Lee, recognizes the magnitude with which this series of events could change racing in the United States. He stated, “I’m very excited and honored that M1GP will be supporting the MotoAmerica round at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Mini racing, the foundation of the sport, has long needed the type of attention that AXcess Racing LLC and MotoAmerica is providing, especially for the kids. Where mini racing is now, just here in Southern California, didn’t happen overnight. It has taken a lot of hard work, dedication, risks, and sacrifices. It’s easy to travel a road once it’s been paved. There’s much more to do, but this endeavor by MotoAmerica and AXcess Racing LLC covers a lot of ground, and will help us lay a path for many miles to come. We’re working on having a great mini road racing display/demo area and welcome folks to stop by and show support for the kids who will be riding.”

Though running the event at Laguna Seca, M1GP is grateful to the AXcess Racing LLC’s Laura Ellis and Cam Morehead, as well as MotoAmerica, who have spearheaded and propelled the series. Special recognition goes to John Ulrich of RoadracingWorld.com for his support and coverage of youth road racers.

Laura Ellis, owner of AXcess Racing LLC, is dedicated to the youth of our sport and focused on future racers. Cam Morehead has been involved in youth road racing for over 14 years. The team will field two KTM 390 Cup racers this season in the MotoAmerica series.

Dedicated to mini road racing since 2009, M1GP maintains high standards of sportsmanship while creating a fun, friendly environment for racers and families. The organization has introduced thousands of riders to minibikes through its championship sprint series, world-renowned endurance races, and popular minibike Rider Clinics.
