AMA Pro Racing Returns to New Jersey Motorsports Park as MotoAmerica for the MotoAmerica Championship of New Jersey with a Weekend Full of Racing Excitement and On and Off Track FUN!

MILLVILLE, N.J. The top Superbike racers in North America return to New Jersey Motorsports Park September 11-13th with the new and improved MotoAmerica (AMA/FIM) Superbike Challenge. The weekend will include two full days of racing, a double-header event for the Superbike, Superstock 1000, Supersport and Superstock 600 classes plus fun for the whole family. New this year, NJMP will host the final round of the KTM RC 390 Cup, a new class open to riders age 14-22.

The premier series will be the Superbike class, which will be based on a combination of existing AMA Superbike chassis rules and engine specifications from the FIM World Superbike series. A Superstock 1000 series will race alongside the Superbike class. Based off the FIM Superstock 1000 series, the Superstock bikes will run on slicks and be scored separately than the Superbike. A new middleweight series will operate similar to the literbikes and combine two classes: Supersport and Supersport 600. The Supersport class replaces the former AMA Daytona SportBike series, while the Superstock600 class incorporates the AMA’s SuperSport class. Both series will blend AMA chassis rules with regulations from their respective series in the FIM World Superbike Championship and will each take the track separately. Also new this year is the KTM RC 390 Cup. This is a spec class that features competition on KTM RC 390 motorcycles. The class is intended to develop young road racers for professional competition.

MotoAmerica will visit New Jersey Motorsports Park for its final race of the 2015 series and the crowning of its series champions. The series will conclude on the 2.25-mile Thunderbolt Raceway layout at NJMP, a track that features 12 corners and a half-mile straightaway. New Jersey has proven to provide exciting finales to the AMA Superbike series on a track the riders enjoy.
