Advance, North Carolina (March 19, 2013) - Top talent and industry insiders from the motorcycle world give their uncut opinions and stories.
Kailub Russell, GNCC Racer - FMF KTM Team
Kailub is off to a strong start for the 2013 season. The 2012 Championship came down to the final round due to a crash by Russell at the season opener which left him unable to finish the pivotal race. His win this past weekend in Georgia has him tied in points for the series with teammate Charlie Mullins. During the off season Russell underwent arm-pump surgery and the results so far seem to point to a successful procedure.
Matt Boni, Retired Pro Motocross/Supercross Racer turned Woods Rider
After a successful amateur career where he won 28 National Titles, Matt turned pro in 2007. There he always finished inside the top 20 in every series he raced and in 2009 he won the Top Privateer award from the Monster Energy Supercross. In 2011 he compound fractured his tibia and fibula and tore his ACL at a horrific crash in the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX. Today Matt runs a heating and cooling business his dad started in 1987. Lately Matt has been racing offroad and he finished an impressive third in the Sportsman's A class at the opening round of the GNCC in River Ranch Florida.
Josh Fulkerson, Marketing Manager, Victory Motorcycles
Josh Fulkerson is the Marketing Manager for Victory Motorcycles, a division of Polaris Industries. He's been with Polaris for the last 8 years in various roles and functions from Dealer Development to District Sales Manager on both east and west coasts, Product Line Sales Manager back at corporate headquarters in Minneapolis and is now running the marketing for Victory Motorcycles in the US and Canada. He's an avid motorcycle rider and says the best perk of his job is getting a brand new motorcycle to ride around every year.
Larry Pegram, AMA Pro Superbike Racer - Foremost Insurance Racing
Larry Pegram on his new Yamaha ride comes away from the Daytona AMA Pro Superbike opening rounds with two third place finishes. In 2012 and 2011 Pegram's Foremost Insurance-sponsored team finished 7th overall. Pegram is coming off BMW's and it looks like the Yamaha suits him just fine.
Kyle Wyman, AMA Pro XR1200 Racer - Kyle Wyman Racing Revolution Performance
Unfortunately for Kyle Wyman 2013 was not three Daytona wins in a row for the XR1200 racer. Instead he comes away from the first race with a second place finish, pretty good for the first race of the season. In 2012 he posted four wins and a handful of podiums but an injury at New Jersey Motorsports Park hindered his final races. He finished the 2012 season in seventh overall and the 2011 season in fifth overall.
