Pit Pass Motorcycle Talk Show
Blake Young, Geoff May, Randall Washington, Blake Wharton, Nate Kanney, Nikki Earlywine
Advance, North Carolina (September 25, 2012) - Top talent and industry insiders from the motorcycle world give their uncut opinions and stories.
Blake Young, AMA Pro National Guard Superbike - Yoshimura Suzuki
This has been an incredible season for Blake as he's finished on the podium sixteen times out of eighteen starts. Of those sixteen podiums three were wins at Daytona, Road Atlanta, and Infineon. He's sits second in the championship and nearly one hundred points ahead of Josh Herrin in third. Two races remain at NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans on October 5th and 7th. This is Blake's fourth season in the Superbike Class.
Geoff May, AMA Pro National Guard Superbike - Hero Amsoil Erik Buell Racing
May is having a very solid season landing him 5th in the overall SuperBike standings. His best finish this season was a third place podium at Miller, he also lays claim to 9 top-five finishes and 15 top-ten finishes. This past weekend in Miami he almost helped clinch a dual-podium for the HERO Amsoil team with his teammate Danny Eslick. In 2011 May finished off the season in 10th place overall as the team worked on development of the bike. May has been instrumental in the development of the EBR racing program working closely with Erik Buell from the infancy of the team.
Randall Washington, President and Chief Executive Rider - Randakk's Cycle Shakk, LLC
Randall (better known as "Randakk") is an entrepreneur, web-merchant, video producer, industrial designer, management consultant, publisher and writer. He is the founder and owner of Randakk's Cycle Shakk LLC - a leading international provider of restoration resources for vintage Honda motorcycles. Washington is a consultant to the motorcycle industry and a frequent speaker at motorcycle industry trade events. He has conducted rallies for vintage motorcycle enthusiasts and has been featured in various books and magazine articles about vintage Hondas. He is also a sponsor of motorcycle race teams.
Blake Wharton, 250cc Motocross/Supercross- Rockstar Suzuki
Blake had an incredible indoor season where he finished third in the Supercross East Coast Lites. Over the summer he plugged away to finish seventh despite some moto's where he didn't score any points. He is the top finisher on his team and the friendly Texan will return to the Rockstar Suzuki squad in 2013. His personality on and off the track make him a very popular rider for fans and the media to follow.
Nate Kanney, GNCC XC1 Pro Class - JG Offroad/American Honda
Nate is a veteran of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series, debuting in the XC1 Pro class back in 2004 at the St. Clairsville round. Since then, the New Yorker has logged 5 overall wins and countless podium finishes. Kanney recently grabbed his first podium finish of 2012 at Round 10 in Unadilla - which is pretty impressive for a guy who juggled a full-time job (Monday through Friday) for the first half of the season, before dropping the "real job" to focus all of his time on racing. Nate currently sits 9th in the series standings with three rounds left in the season.
Nikki Earlywine, Owner - Earlywine Racing Arena
Nikki and her late-husband (Chris) built an indoor motocross facility after years of running races on outdoor tracks. The indoor track is the size of a football field, with a heated spectator area, indoor pitting, concessions, bathrooms, overhead viewing area, quick sign-up system, etc. Nikki and her husband both raced GNCC and MX and are the only married couple in AMA history to both be National Champions. Five years ago her husband passed away unexpectedly. Their son continues to race both dirt bikes and ATVs. This past March the Earlywine facility was destroyed by tornadoes and they had to rebuild it. The winter series begins Oct 20th for quads and Oct 27th for bikes and goes thru the first of March. This is the 2nd season that the track is offering the Fly Bucks Contingency Program.
