Paul Whibley, 2012 GNCC XC1 Champion- Am-Pro Yamaha
The premier class (XC1) in the GNCC championship came down to the final round this past Saturday at the Loretta Lynn's Dude Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN. Paul came into the race one point down from class points leader Kailub Russell and whoever finished in front of the other would be champion. Paul put in a great ride and ran away with the win to take his second GNCC XC1 championship. This is his second XC1 title after winning in 2009.
Jason Thomas, 2012 GNCC XC2 Champion - KR4 Performance
This year Jason rode the GNCC XC2 class, the ISDE in Germany where he won a Gold Medal for the British Trophy Team, and also the AWRCS Championship and won that as well. It's been a great year to say the least. This past weekend at the final GNCC round at Loretta Lynn's in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, he went into the race one point down from the class points leader Steward Baylor. Jason put together a solid ride finishing second while Steward took fourth and Jason clinched the championship.
Mike Muye, Director of Operations- AMSOIL Arenacross
The folks at Feld Entertainment are mixing things up in the Arenacross series. So much that it might spark a lot of new interest as well as keep die-hard Arenacross fans on their toes all season long. A totally new two-main event format, a new point's structure, and a random drawing to possibly invert the starting order are all in order to mix things up this winter. Also two-lap, head to head, bracket racing that pays championship points will be part of the program. The most significant change is the "Race to the Championship" that will start with only four weekends remaining similar to what NASCAR does the in the Sprint Cup Championships.
Josh Herrin, AMA Pro SuperBike Racer - Monster Energy Yamaha
Herrin wrapped up his rookie year in AMA Pro SuperBike in 4th place overall with 10 podiums to his credit - pretty solid for a first year rookie. A flat track crash took him out of the final two races of the season with a shoulder injury. In 2011 Herrin raced in the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike class finishing 2nd overall for the season earning a pole at Mid-Ohio and five victories. Always a consistent top finisher he finished in 3rd in 2010 and 2nd in 2009 in the DSB class.
